A Little Something Fun and Useful

A few weeks ago I received a newsletter from a scrapbook store and it had this idea in it. Well it has been hounding me day and night and I just had to give it a try today. It was high on the famous "TO Do List" that seems to be ever so growing steadily. I always have such good intentions of getting something on that list accomplished.
Today was the day for the candle jar lid. Yup, a candle jar lid that I usually throw right out in the trash. Not anymore. I took the round plastic thingy off the edge and then started cutting.
I started out by cutting out a free image I picked up from Dustin Pikes Blog of a really cute Santa. I then used Copic markers to color him in with. The glass makes the image look alot bigger too I might add. I cut out green card stock then applied the Santa onto it. All of it was then decoupaged to the outside of the glass lid ( the top) left it to dry really good then glued on felt.
After I knew it was all secure and good I used a little Snow Tex around the outside and placed a few red rhinestones and some ribbon.
The ideas just keep coming to me on all the possibilities you can use these for. You can put a little candy in them, hold paperclips or brads, They would be really cute for teachers too. Another Idea would be to use a photo and use for great gifts for parents and grandparents for Christmas.
Can you think of any other fun things you could use these lids for? Thanks for sharing in my fun time and I hope you will give it a try. Remember, I want to see if you do.
