Popping Up Boo!

If you are looking for a really cute project to do for just about any holiday, birthday or just about any fun time this is one of those "I have to make one of those"crafts.
Only thing is that they are addicting and you can't stop at just one. I got this idea from a blog that was posted on a craft board. It is a pop up match book box. The ghost lays flat down in the box but pops right up when opened.
It is fun and so easy to do. The box measures about 3 1/2 by 4 1/2 so it is pretty good size to hold all kinds of cute little things. I put stickers in it and sent it off for a prize on a swap board.
The little ghost pops up with a little scrap of window sheet. You know those little plastic see through flexible sheets. I cut a little piece of one and glued in onto the ghosts then to the front inside of the box. It lays down when closed and Pops right up when opened. How cute is that...

I can think of all kinds of things for pop ups..Let me know if you have any ideas or if you make some.I would love to see more ideas on these.
Have fun and thanks for stopping by and taking a peek.

A Little Something Fun and Useful

A few weeks ago I received a newsletter from a scrapbook store and it had this idea in it. Well it has been hounding me day and night and I just had to give it a try today. It was high on the famous "TO Do List" that seems to be ever so growing steadily. I always have such good intentions of getting something on that list accomplished.
Today was the day for the candle jar lid. Yup, a candle jar lid that I usually throw right out in the trash. Not anymore. I took the round plastic thingy off the edge and then started cutting.
I started out by cutting out a free image I picked up from Dustin Pikes Blog of a really cute Santa. I then used Copic markers to color him in with. The glass makes the image look alot bigger too I might add. I cut out green card stock then applied the Santa onto it. All of it was then decoupaged to the outside of the glass lid ( the top) left it to dry really good then glued on felt.
After I knew it was all secure and good I used a little Snow Tex around the outside and placed a few red rhinestones and some ribbon.
The ideas just keep coming to me on all the possibilities you can use these for. You can put a little candy in them, hold paperclips or brads, They would be really cute for teachers too. Another Idea would be to use a photo and use for great gifts for parents and grandparents for Christmas.
Can you think of any other fun things you could use these lids for? Thanks for sharing in my fun time and I hope you will give it a try. Remember, I want to see if you do.

Owl Card

Looks like it has been forever since I have posted anything. I will say I have been hiding in my craft room since I have redone it ( that was a process)and it is nice to just go and play and get away from everything.
This one card was quick and easy and loads of fun. I cut it out with a cutter and it is backed with a orange color. It looks like it is yellow in the picture. I just love owls and was happy to get to cut this one out.
It is good to be back playing and blogging again. Thanks for looking and all comments are appreciated.
